ECS, Inc. was established in 2003 and has a total full and part time staff of nine. Our plumbing/fire protection designer, Darin Kofoed, brings 25 years of design experience to the table. This experience coupled with our vast knowledge of the Mechanical & Electrical industry equates to a successful problem-free design for every client.

Interfacing with the Client

We believe one of the strengths of our company is our ability to listen and to communicate with our clients. We are strong believers in developing the project scope in close conjunction with the Owner so that everyone involved with the project knows what is expected of them in addition to understanding what responsibilities, skills and objectives each team member brings to the overall design process. We utilize all forms of communications available to us to keep not only the project team informed as to what is going on, but the client as well.

Project Management Procedures

Our approach to project management is centered on the premise that team members who start the project stay with it to the finish. Each of our internal project teams includes a separate Principal-in-Charge and Project Manager. We believe this approach assures you, the Owner, of always having the "A" Team working on your project. Our management of the project doesn't end at bidding, it continues right through final acceptance. We are with you all the way.

Quality Assurance

Producing a quality product capable of providing you with many years of trouble free operation is our main goal. This process starts at the very beginning of the design, and continues on until final project acceptance. Throughout the duration of the project, it is the role of the Principal-in-Charge to monitor its progress and to continually review it throughout the design process to ensure our standard of quality is maintained.

Schedule and Cost Control

At the very outset, the project schedule and budget will be discussed and set. We take very seriously the old adage of proving projects "on time and in budget". In order to accomplish this feat, we constantly monitor project progress and cost implications associated with our design. When we find schedules slipping and/or costs are rising, we address these issues immediately with team members to get the project back on track.

Program Review Procedures

Establishing review milestones is another critical way of keeping the project on schedule and in budget. At our very first meeting, review submittal dates should be established. In addition to those established dates, it is our belief and standard operating procedure to have informal reviews with the client so that there will be no surprises when our submittals are reviewed. Keeping you, the client, "in the loop" is critical to a successful project.
